Danish Gastronomy for the Whole Family
At Kjærbølling’s House, we serve beloved Danish classics. Choose from a wide selection of smørrebrød (open-faced sandwiches), traditional chicken-and-asparagus tartlets (tarteletter), beef Parisienne (pariserbøf), and other tempting favorites for both children and adults. Whether you’re curious to try smørrebrød topped with crispy fish fillet, egg and shrimp, or delicate slices of potato with classic garnishes, your meal will be served fresh in a flash.
Dine indoors in the cozy, historic building named after the Zoo’s founder, Niels Kjærbølling. When the Danish weather permits, enjoy your meal outside with views of camels, lions, and flamingos.
Treat yourself to a delicious slice of cake, warm up with a cup of coffee, or take a well-earned break with a cold beer or soda. Meanwhile, children can play in the “Kids’ Corner,” color drawings, or dig into child-sized dishes from our children’s menu - like fish and chips, perfect for little appetites.
Kjæbølling’s House is open for both lunch and dinner, including after the Zoo has closed.
Please note: Guests cannot walk around the Zoo after closing time, and the restaurant’s terrace is not accessible when the Zoo is closed.
