Donate to the ZOO

Involved in conservations projects around the world

The number of endangered animal species contoinues to rise, and without the efforts of zoos, even more species would be at risk.

You can support Copenhagen Zoo's work to save endangered animals with a one-off donation or regular support.

At Copenhagen Zoo, we work on more than 30 different projects focusing on conservation, biodiversity, research and endangered species.

These projects range from protecting amphibians in Danish wetlands to combating rhino poaching in South Africa's 65,000-hectare Pilanesbrg National Park, where Copenhagen Zoo has been working since 2008.

In Denmark, we work to promote biodiversity in Danish forests in collaboration with forward-thinking landowners, the Danish Nature Agency and the Danish Environmental Protection Agency. We also breed and reintroduce selected species, such as the natterjack toad.

Our conservation projects

At Copenhagen Zoo, we are actively involved in conservation projects around the world. Which project would you like to learn more about?

Why we work with conservation

Species disappear when their habitats are destroyed, populations become too small, or animals face threats such as illegal wildlife trade and poaching.

Copenhagen Zoo contributes through zoological expertise, research, breeding, reintroduction and fieldwork. We collaborate with researchers, authorities, other zoos and local organisations on individual projects.
