The Zoo Tower

The Zoo Tower

High Above the Zoo

Take your Zoo visit to new heights — exactly 43.5 meters above ground! From the top of the Zoo Tower, you’ll enjoy a stunning panoramic view of Copenhagen.

Originally built in 1905, the tower has been renovated several times over the years. Today, it takes 182 steps to reach the top platform, where you’ll stand 43.5 meters above the ground with sweeping views of the entire city. The very highest point — at the top of the flagpole — reaches 50 meters above ground level.

But your visit to the Zoo Tower is more than just a great view — it also helps protect animals around the world. Entry costs DKK 25, and all proceeds go directly to vital conservation projects. These include Pilanesberg National Park in South Africa, 9,069 kilometers away, where your support helps protect rhinos from poaching.

Your visit also supports efforts in Zackenberg, Greenland (2,537 km away), where scientists track wild musk ox populations, and in Refsvindinge on Funen (123 km from Copenhagen), where native amphibians are being reintroduced into the wild. These are just a few of the many important projects you support when you climb the Zoo Tower!
