The Zoo Mission
Calling all Nature Heroes! The animals of the world need our help. As their natural habitats disappear, many species face the risk of extinction. That’s why Copenhagen Zoo works to protect and care for animals across the globe — and now kids aged 5 to 12 can join the Zoo Mission.
Ready for your mission?
Take part in the Zoo Mission and explore, run, and play your way through the Zoo while becoming a true Nature Hero — caring for the world’s animals and nature. During your mission, you will complete two fun challenges and earn badges as rewards. You can earn badges for becoming a Zoo Friend (ZOO-Ven) and a Zoo Explorer (ZOO-Opdager) — all qualities of a true Nature Hero.
5 Steps to Becoming One of the Zoo’s Nature Heroes
Pick up your free activity booklet at the entrance.
Complete exciting tasks while exploring the Zoo.
After completing a task, get your booklet stamped at the Zoo Shop.
Once you have enough stamps, exchange them for cool badges at the Zoo Shop. The Zoo Friend badge (ZOO-Ven) is free, while the Zoo Explorer badge (ZOO-Opdager) costs DKK 5.
Iron the badges onto your clothes and proudly show the world that you’re one of Copenhagen Zoo’s Nature Heroes!
When you visit Copenhagen Zoo you contribute to saving threatened animals and supporting conservation projects worldwide. The Zoo works with everything from reintroducing endangered amphibians in Denmark to combating illegal poaching of rhinos in South Africa.
