Bistro Ailu

Treat yourself to a delicious French-Asian fusion meal at Bistro Ailu. It’s the perfect spot for the whole family to indulge their taste buds — all while enjoying a front-row view of the giant pandas, often seen eating, napping, or playfully roaming just outside the windows.

Kjærbølling’s House

Discover classic Danish favorites like smørrebrød (open-faced sandwiches), chicken-and-asparagus tartlets, and beef Parisienne — also available in kid-friendly portions. Kjærbølling’s House combines great value, high quality, and a cozy atmosphere. We keep wait times short and offer a fun kids’ corner for the little ones. Open for both lunch and dinner.

Kalle’s Coffee Stands

Recharge with a steaming cup of coffee or tea and a tasty croissant at one of our coffee stands located throughout the Zoo.

The coffee stands by the Savannah and the World Square (Verdenspladsen) are open year-round and follow the Zoo’s opening hours. Other stands are open during selected time periods.

You’ll find them located near the Zoo Tower, Camel Square, World Square, Zoo Lab, Children’s Zoo, and the Savannah.

Relax and sink your teeth into a juicy burger with crispy fries right next to the large playground in the Children’s Zoo. Children’s menus are also available for the Zoo’s youngest visitors.

Enjoy hot, crunchy churros served with a variety of toppings — including organic ice cream from the Danish brand Hansens Is, topped with rich chocolate sauce. Just follow the scent!

Nursing, Baby food, and Bringing Your Own Food

Bringing Your Own Food

At the Zoo, you’re welcome to bring and enjoy your own food at one of the many outdoor picnic areas designated for visitors with brought-in meals. You can find picnic spots by the Owl Tower, the Kids' Zoo, the Hippo House, and near the red pandas. During the winter, you can also enjoy your food in the heated Picnic House located in the Kids' Zoo.

Nursing and Baby Food

You’re always welcome to nurse your child at the Zoo. A designated nursing room with facilities for warming milk is available at Kjærbølling’s House. The Zoo also offers restrooms with changing tables at the World of Primates, the Tropical House, Kids' Zoo, the Elephant House, and the Arctic Ring.

Since 2001, the Danish Food Safety Authority has issued hygiene ratings— known as “smileys.” These inspections cover hygiene training, packaging, product standards, labeling, and consumer information. See the smiley ratings for the Zoo’s various eateries here.
