PURPOSE
Copenhagen Zoo’s new strategy aims to position the Zoo as a future-oriented, well-managed, and socially relevant cultural institution — recognized for its achievements in conservation and biodiversity. These efforts are realized through the breeding of endangered species, scientific research, educational outreach, and conservation work at local, national, and international levels.
As an organization, we embrace our responsibility and set ambitious standards for how we — through collaboration — can better protect the world’s animals and care for one another.
We work with partners locally, nationally, and internationally — with active efforts on six continents. Through research, breeding programs, and global partnerships, we contribute to securing the future of endangered species.
Copenhagen Zoo is the only zoo in Denmark with all core resources in-house, including veterinarians, biologists, researchers, and dedicated conservation teams — a capacity that comes with both responsibility and the power to act.
For decades, our teams have been on the ground in biodiversity hotspots where wildlife needs us most — whether in a field on Lolland or a national park in Africa.
