Copenhagen Zoo has signed the labeling scheme 'God Adgang' which assures great accessability all over the Zoo. The label indicates that it is easy for the elderly, families with young children and people with disabilities to move around the Zoo.
The labeling scheme is divided into seven categories:
ZOO disposes of a small number of wheelchairs which is possible to lend for free. Consult the inspectors in the entrance, or book in advance on telephone 72200200.
If the disabled person purchase an entrance ticket or a season pass, the disabled assistant does not need to pay admission to the Zoo if the person with disabilities are in possession of a companion card issued by Danish Disability Organisations accompanying card from Danish Association of the Blind or the Child's Companion Card from IBS (Invalid Organisations User Service).
Disabled with season pass can obtain companion cards. Cards are issued in the disabled person's name and is valid for an unnamed person, so it can be used by several different people if the disabled person has assigned several helpers.
To obtain the companion card, a valid card issued by the Danish Disability Organisations accompanying card from Danish Association of the Blind or the Child's Companion Cards from IBS (Invalid Organisations User Service) is needed.
A companion card provides for an accompanying adult, when the disabled person shows it together with the season pass in the entrance.
It is allowed to bring guide dogs and service dogs in the Zoo.
The disabled toilets at the Zoo are placed near the common toilets. However, there are no disabled toilets at the Children's Zoo. See the map of the Zoo for further details.
